COURTHOUSE PARKING UPDATE
On September 22, 2026, the County will begin a multi-phase parking lot renovation that will limit available parking spaces to approximately one third of the current capacity for about three weeks. During this time the main entrance on HWY 27 will be closed with the only available entrance on Walton Street to access the limited spaces on that side.
On or about October 12, 2026, the main entrance on HWY 27 will open allowing access to the renovated parking spaces on that side of the lot. At this time the Walton Street entrance will be closed to allow for the renovation of the remaining spaces. This phase is expected to last for an additional three weeks.
During this time, please make plans to arrive early for court appearances to allow time to find a parking spot. Limited parking spaces are also available on side streets near the courthouse.
NEW PROBATE COURT OFFICE LOCATION
The Probate Court’s main offices are now located in the West Wing of the second floor of the Harris County Courthouse. Please note the Tax Commissioner’s office for car tags and property taxes is now located on the first floor beside the Tax Assessor’s Office.
